Renee Hickerson, founder of R.H. Coaching Studio, holds an Ed.M. in English Education from Columbia University and brings 9-years of experience working with middle, high school, and college students. Recognizing the critical need for emotional, social, and professional support for teachers, she founded R.H. Coaching Studio to address these challenges and empower educators. R.H. Coaching Studio offers comprehensive support for both students and educators. We empower students through personalized coaching, helping them unlock their full potential by developing critical thinking, social skills, and confidence. We have assisted students with admissions into Harvard Secondary Program, MIT Launch, Wharton Youth and various summer programs through passion projects. For teachers, we provide expert consulting services to navigate the challenges of modern education, from overcoming burnout to enhancing classroom strategies. We Offer Assessments of Student Learning
Research-Based Assessment Techniques
Cognitive Strategies: Give students earning task; require them to select useful strategies for learning new info independently. Expect students to explain what methods they use for different learning tasks. Comprehension: Give topics and ask students to restate and summarize info or ask students to apply info in new context. Concept Understanding: Teachers give students new examples, having students categorize these into groups. Creativity: Project based learning; new problems to solve; new situations and experiences to turn upside down; script writing and performance based.
Assessment of Student Outcomes
Critical Thinking Skills: Evaluate outcomes or info and have students perform research and analysis.
Insight: Give students opportunties to engage in inquiry and discovery activities and situations for them to manipulate.
Metacognition: Give students a variety of problems to address. Assign students to identify different kinds of thinking strategies for analysis and evaluation of their own process.
Multiple Intelligence: Give students learning experience in each of the modalities they target: verbal, linguistic, audio, visual and kinesthetic. Students should perform the modality they perfected.
Motor Skills: Teachers supply resources and situations in which students can perform the skills while the teacher evaluates using checklist, etc.
